Thanks for dropping by! I'm Mandy, a former teacher, writer, yoga enthusiast and all-around plant lover. But the most transformative role in my life? Being a mom. Raising a son with a serious medical condition has been a humbling journey to say the least. It's turned me into a problem solver, a researcher, a health advocate and I have developed a profound empathy for anyone dealing with health challenges.
Looking back on the last 10 years, I can tell you it's been a rollercoaster. I spent way too much time in a constant state of stress, always on edge for a potential medical crisis. This took a toll on me physically, emotionally, and spiritually, more so than I ever imagined. Chronic fatigue, anxiety, leaky gut, inflammation, hormone imbalances and food sensitivities became significant health issues that my Western medicine doctors were doing little to treat. I felt misunderstood and alone.
I decided to take things into my own hands and my quest for healing began. Since then I've immersed myself in movement, meditation, and holistic practices to address the root of these issues in a more natural way. Let me be clear, the amazing contributions of Western medicine are not lost on me. They save lives every day, including my son's, and provide essential care when needed. However, I also recognize the value of preventive strategies. And while life can definitely get in the way, each day I strive to nurture my nervous system, manage stress, and giving my body what it needs for optimal health because the alternative... was a miserable existence.
As my journey toward healing continues to evolve, I'd love to share what I've uncovered over the past decade. After all, we're all navigating our own paths to healing, whether it's recovering from trauma, coping with heartache, managing work stress, or striving for life balance. Who's got time to research how to heal from the trauma stuck in your body or how to let go of the things holding you back. That's where I come in- ready to help you navigate this crazy human experience and heal from the inside out. Let's do this together.
The Alchemy Project is the exploration of holistic practices to help us heal. These tools are a means of going deep to the root of trauma, stress and illness in a gentle and understanding way. It’s about acknowledging how miraculous the body is to protect and sustain us and about holding space for a new version of ourselves to emerge. I offer a variety of ways to dig deep such as yoga, somatic movement, meditation, breathwork, recipes, herbalism and a some of my favorite rituals and routines. There is no one way to finding your vital self and I encourage you to try it all and see what feels right for you.
